RPBA Forges Partnership with Cultural Group, Members Benefit

January 17, 2020

Last week in a letter to current and past members of the Riverdale Park Business Association, President Michael Herman, Esq. reminded the RPBA that Riverdale Park will be celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. “It is a fitting time for us to re-energize the Riverdale Park Business Association. Since 1992, RPBA has been the leading voice of concerns for local issues affecting businesses and the business environment,” Herman wrote. He added that the new group of RPBA leaders “are committed to expanding opportunities for businesses to grow and thrive in the greater Riverdale Park area.”

For these and many other reasons, RPBA is again encouraging you to invest in your business and re-invest in the RPBA. Membership benefits include: invitation to monthly meetings of local businesses; bi-monthly guest speakers on issues affecting our business community; facilitated contact with local, county and state officials; development of peer to peer business associations to stimulate new ideas and concepts to improve business strategies; having an in depth business profile included in upcoming editions of our electronic newsletter; being connected with the most vital voice for businesses in our area; and so much more. Every third meeting is located at one of our member’s restaurant or business. The cost is so modest considering the membership benefits.

And now there is an added benefit – arts and entertainment. You know, culture! Joe’s Movement Emporium offers an escape from those grueling hours of reviewing daily receipts, toiling behind a hot stove or writing dunning letters to slow-pays. Oy vey! Go have some fun starting tonight! RPBA this week forged a partnership with Joe’s Movement Emporium in Mount Rainier that gives RPBA members discounts on all performances. For instance, plug in the RPBA code when buying tickets to Friday evening’s performance of Juxapose by Happenstance Theater and get a $13 general admission ticket for just $10.

The Happenstance Theater quintet is developing a Theatrical Collage inspired by the works of Joseph Cornell. Using the manipulation of objects, puppetry, physical theatre, theatrical clown, and vintage spectacle, the Helen Hays Award winning troupe will conjure portals for the audience to engage their imaginations and build stories.

Tonight’s performance begins at 8. There two shows Saturday at 2 and 8 pm; and a fourth show Sunday at 2 pm.

To get discounted tickets, go to https://www.joesmovement.org/new-events/happenstance-theater-juxtapose, click TICKETS, pick a performance to buy tickets and use Discount code: RPBA (all capitalized), for a discounted rate on any of the 4 showings. Joe’s Movement Emporium is at 3309 Bunker Hill Road, Mount Rainier, MD. 20712
