RIVERDALE PARK, MD., October 10, 2019 – The parent company of 2Fifty Texas BBQ on Tuesday

bought Riverdale Park landmark, Dumm’s Pizza & Subs for an undisclosed price. MADRE USA

CORP., which owns 2Fifty, said it has settled on the acquisition of the Dumm’s business and its

valuable liquor license in the deal with owners/operators Georgia and Mike Sotiriou.

In addition, the company has reached an agreement with Georgia’s Sotiriou’s father, Pete

Spiropoulos, to lease the 2,700 square foot open space on the corner of 4700 Riverdale Rd.

The Riverdale Park Business Association has moved its October meeting to the third Wednesday of the month from its regularly scheduled second Wednesday of the month due to the Yom Kippur holiday. The Jewish day of atonement begins at sunset, Tuesday, Oct. 8 and ends at sunset, Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019.

The October meeting will be held the following week on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019 beginning at 6 pm at Riverdale Park Town Hall, 5008 Queensbury Rd., Riverdale Park, MD 20737.

The association will hold annual elections that evening. Four individuals from the Riverdale Park business community have registered interest in leadership positions. The Station’s SPM Lydia Chandlee to Focus on Area Impact, Growth and Future

RIVERDALE PARK, MD., Sept. 10, 2019 – Riverdale Park Station Senior Property Manager Lydia C. Chandlee will be the featured guest of the Riverdale Park Business Association at its monthly meeting, Wednesday, Sept. 11. The meeting begins at 6 pm at Burtons Grill & Bar in Riverdale Park Station.

Chandlee will give RPBA members an update and overview of the 36-acre master-planned community which will contain 119 townhouses, 850 apartment units, 160,000 square feet of retail space, 20,000 square feet of office space and a 120-room Hyatt House boutique hotelat its full build out. Wednesday, July 10 Meeting To Focus on Future Projects, Development

Riverdale Park, MD, July 8, 2019 – Calvin Cafritz Enterprises broke ground on June 19 for Building 5 on the final leg of the 38-acre project’s first of two phases. The building will wrap around the four-story parking garage already constructed in the north central portion of Riverdale Park Station. It will add 220 mostly one-bedroom, and junior one-bedroom apartments. Junior one-bedrooms are slightly smaller one-bedroom apartments without a window in the sleeping area, The Bizwas told.

MUTC Approves New Height Plan For RPS, Learn More Wednesday, June 12

Riverdale Park, MD, June 10, 2019 – The developers of Riverdale Park Station last week won

initial approval for a significant height change for the final two buildings proposed at its 38-acre

site along U.S. Route 1. The new latest plan will increase building height from six to

seven stories or to as much as 84 feet above the railroad tracks. The plan won clearance by

Riverdale Park’s MUTC after representatives from Calvin Cafritz Enterprises said it was

abandoning plans for a third building where a drainage pond now rests (with plans to eventually

create a real water feature) but wanted to recapture units in the third building by adding a floor

to the remaining two buildings now on the drawing board.
